My Prim Treasures From St. Mary’s

Good evening, everyone.

Remember in a previous post, I told you hubby and I got away for the day and hit one of my favorite antique malls.

St. Mary’s, MO.

Here is a quick post to share what I got.

Lets start with my favorite find!

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I found this wonderful old quilt.

It is hard to tell in the photos but it is made up of wonderful early blue calico.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

The end pieces were added a later time.  Under them is the same blue calico fabric as on quilt.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

But wait! It gets better!

Check this out!

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

Yes, the back was covered in blue calico fabric too!!!

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

Lucky for me, this is a string tied quilt, not stitched.

So, I am going to take it apart and use the amazing fabric for my creations.

I found one more quilt on my outing.

A wonderful feed sack cutter.

Check out all the wonderful feed sack designs!

So pretty.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

This one is perfect for crafts or for a stacker.

It does have wear to the edges and some worn spots to the quilt top.

Inside this quilt is a bonus.

They used an old pick blanket instead of batting.

I have this quilt listed in my Etsy shop.

I also found these wonderful items for resale.

A vintage utensil tote.

Some vintage started quilting projects.

This star is still backed with old newspaper.

The center circles are not finished on this.

But full of wonderful vintage feed sack design.

I have listed this nice yardage piece of vintage fabric.

Next is an item I am considering selling, but I don’t have it listed yet.

I’m trying to figure out the shipping cost.

It is an amazing antique high chair with fabulous, true old, worn blue paint.

Unfortunately, one of the lower spindles are broken.

But to me, it doesn’t make it any less wonderful.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

Here are the last few items I bought.

These are all for me.

At least for now :)

A wonderful old, dome lid, trunk with fabulous old mustard paint.

I love mustard in real life, but it is such a difficult color to get an accurate photo of.

Trunk is a warm, not bright, mustard yellow.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I have this sitting in my foyer, holding a small display of sewing items.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

I picked up some more fabric and some vintage doll clothes for my creations.

A Primitive Place ~Tammy

And lastly, these adorable antique baby mittens.

Love them!

All in all, I would say, it was a pretty darn good junkin’ day.

:)

Thanks so much for stopping by.

And don’t forget…

Please Pray For A Neighboring Southern IL Town

Last night my son came running into our room at about 4:30 AM.

The tornado warning sirens were going off.

No, I didn't hear it, thank God he could.

I jumped up out of bed as he ran to yell for his sister asleep in an upstairs bedroom.

Then we all went to the basement, waiting for the storm to pass.

Luckily, nothing hit Herrin, just wind and rain.

A fellow southern Illinois town was not so lucky.

Harrisburg, IL. which is approx. 30 minutes away from my home was devastated by the storm.

Click Here to read a local news article.

At least 10 people were killed, and at least 100 injured, in Southern IL. last night.

I’m asking all my followers of faith to please send prayers out for everyone affected by this horrible storm.
